Stevenson High School in Lincolnshire has chosen its new superintendent from within its own ranks. Dr. Hector Garcia, who is currently the assistant superintendent for teaching and learning, will take over the top job on July 1. The decision was announced by the District 125 School Board on January 14, 2025.
Dr. Garcia has been an integral part of the Stevenson community for many years. He has spent 22 years in education, including the last 11 at Stevenson. His roles have included director of student services and director of teaching and learning. His promotion to superintendent will allow him to lead the entire school and continue his commitment to excellence in education.
In his new role, Dr. Garcia will be responsible for ensuring the school maintains its commitment to providing a high-quality education to its students. He will also be tasked with managing the school's staff and resources, as well as working closely with the school board to develop and implement strategic plans for the school's future.
Board President Steve Frost expressed his confidence in Dr. Garcia, stating that his experience, leadership, and commitment to the school make him an excellent choice for the position. The appointment of Dr. Garcia follows the retirement of the current superintendent, Dr. Eric Twadell, who has served Stevenson High School for 17 years.
