St. Viator High School has announced a change in leadership for their football program. The school has appointed Brian Gould as the new head football coach. Gould, who has a rich history in football both as a player and a coach, is all set to take the reins of the Lions.
Before this appointment, Gould served as an assistant coach at Hoffman Estates for eight seasons. Additionally, he was also a defensive coordinator at St. Viator from 2009 to 2012. He was a key figure in driving the team to their first playoff win in 2009. His coaching career also includes stints at Prospect and Elk Grove.
Gould is not just an experienced coach, but also a former football player. He played in the safety position at Drake University in Des Moines, Iowa, where he was a four-year starter and a three-year captain. He also earned all-conference honors in his senior year.
His commitment to the sport and his vast experience makes Gould a valuable addition to the St. Viator community. The school's administration, including the Athletic Director Jason Kuffel, expressed their excitement about Gould's appointment and are confident about the positive impact he will bring to the team.
Gould is equally enthusiastic about the opportunity to lead the Lions. He stated that his goal is to build a program that operates with consistency and integrity, and ultimately, prepares the players to be successful beyond the football field.
This appointment marks a new beginning for St. Viator's football program. With Gould's leadership, the school aims to build a team that not only excels on the field but also embodies the values of discipline, teamwork, and resilience.
