A man from Lake County has been charged following a knife attack at a motel. Richard Vody, from Fox Lake, was taken into custody and is facing charges of aggravated battery with a deadly weapon, aggravated battery causing great bodily harm, and domestic battery.

The incident occurred on Monday night, when the police responded to a call from a motel in unincorporated Antioch, where a woman was reportedly attacked with a knife. The victim had been stabbed multiple times and was transported to the hospital. Her condition was stabilized and she is expected to recover.

Upon arriving at the scene, the officers found a man, later identified as Vody, who had a self-inflicted knife wound. He was taken to the hospital for treatment before being taken into custody. Vody was in a relationship with the victim, and the attack took place during an argument, according to the Lake County Sheriff's Office.

The Sheriff's Office also revealed that Vody had a previous history of domestic violence. He is now being held at the Lake County Jail on a $1 million bond. The Sheriff's Office emphasized their commitment to taking all necessary action to ensure the safety and security of victims of domestic violence.

The case continues to be investigated by the Lake County Sheriff's Office. They urged anyone with information about the incident to come forward and assist with the ongoing investigation.
